Pisang Goreng

Pisang goreng is a favorite Malaysian delicacy. Pisang goreng is actually deed fried young banana with flour. This “kuih” or cake is usually served as a side dish during later noon or evening tea break. It taste great with chilies too !

Cucur Udang

Cucur Udang is a traditional Malay Kuih. Deep friend flour with prawns. The “Kuih” is usually served with chili during afternoon snack time. Nothing beats having a Teh Tarik kurang manis and cucur during my tea break. For this setup, we used some chili sauce and Tepak Sirih as the background of the food.

 

Meatballs Spaghetti

Fish Burger

It takes a lot of effort particularly to style food foods such as burgers. The buns and all the raw materials for burgers are carefully selected by food stylist and carefully reconstructed.  Tomatoes are red and lettuce should look green while remains as fresh as possible. The stylist will then have to carefully layer out the burgers while making sure everything looks good.  Sometimes items such as toothpicks are use to support to burgers.

Nepali Momo

Momo is a type of dumpling that is very popular is Himalayan region such as Nepal, Bhutan and Tibet. This dish is very similar to chinese version of wanton or jiaozhi. Momo is prepared with simple thin layer of flour that is then wrapped with any combination of fillings. Various combination of meat , vegetables or tofu is minced or chopped to produce the filling. These dumplings can be either fried, boiled or steamed. Momo can be served with gravy or dipped in various choice of sauce.

Nasi Lemak

Nasi Lemak literary means coconut milk rice  is one of Malaysians most favorite dish. This traditional Malay dish consists of rice that is cooked with santan ( coconut milk) and pandan leaves, while it is usually served with sambal, fried anchovies , hard boiled eggs, cucumbers, peanuts and choice of meat such as rendang or fried chicken.

Nasi Lemak is easily available from warungs to cafes while you can find people eating this dish from day to night in Malaysia.
