Sri Lankan Food may not be an easy subject to capture. These dishes are traditionally cooked therefore elements such as colors, shapes and sizes are often ignored as compared to western style fine dining.
After some serious discussions with the chef, we instructed that garnishing materials are not to be overly cooked so the color would retain. The original height of the dish is also too flat and we decided to raise the rice a little further. We have added extra elements of contrasting colors to the background so make the overall presentation more attractive.
For this shot, I decided to go a little closer so the fine details of the dishes and the rice can be seen.
